Find My Past was set up as a sister Company to Title Research which has been providing professional clients with research services in Estate, Trust and Probate cases for approximately 40 years. Title Research is the leading independent Company in its field, focusing on providing quality services to lawyers and banks. The Company is based in London but has worldwide research capabilities.

Customer's Business Issues

Find My Past identified a market for the provision of a service to consumers that allowed them to gain access to Birth, Marriage and Death indexes for England and Wales which they wanted to achieve through a commercial website. Find My Past had a predefined budget to achieve the solution as part of their business plan and needed to find an IT Solutions company that could deliver this for them.

Customer's Business Objectives

Find My Past was a new business and needed a web application that would achieve a number of business objectives:

• Take their existing images, convert them to a new format, and clean them for high quality viewing
• Customers using the site would need to be able make payments in a secure environment

Initial Customer Set up

As this was a new venture for Find My Past, there was no existing infrastructure. However, there were several million images that needed to be converted to make them available in the new web application.

Logicalis Computing Solutions wrote a unique application with Find My Past that integrated a WebSphere Application Server Website with LizardTech imaging software, the DataCash payment system, using an IBM DB2 Database and Linux Red Hat operating system running on IBM xSeries PC Server.
